The season never ends

Did you know the college athletic season has nearly doubled — but the mental support systems haven't kept pace?In 1990, a college basketball player competed in roughly 30 games over 4–5 months.

Today, with expanded non-conference schedules, conference tournaments, and year-round mandatory workouts, many athletes are in competition mode for 9+ months.

The calendar changed. The frameworks for managing focus, pressure, and identity largely didn't.

That gap shows up — in performance, in behavior, and eventually in the portal.
